The watch lab

Astrabyss traces its origins to an Italian watchmaking laboratory established in the early 2000s.

From the beginning the mission has stayed the same: to work with precision, transparency and dedication in the restoration of fine timepieces. Over two decades the workshop earned international recognition, and in 2020 alone it repaired and restored more than 1,000 Swiss watches arriving from all corners of the globe.

Progetto META

In 2023, the founding engineer, together with a team of designers and master watchmakers, began the Meta of Astrabyss project. Its seeds were sown in 2015; its definitive development came in 2023.

2023 was the year of the rabbit, long held as a sign of good fortune. A fitting year to begin.

Meta represents not just a destination but the beginning of Astrabyss's journey in the world of horology: timepieces for every domain, from the celestial heights, Astra, to the enigmatic depths, Abyss.

Founder Ing. Mattia Squillacciotti, the lab's first assembler, repairer, designer and developer. He still does the hands-on work in the lab himself.
